The ISV/IPV world rankings are copyright protected!

HorseTelex employees add all results of show jumping, dressage and eventing competitions to the database on a daily basis. From this daily flow of sport and breeding information, we derive up-to-date and highly informative world rankings: the ISV lists for sport horses (International Sport Value) and the IPV lists for stallions, mares and studbooks (International Progeny Value).

In cooperation with top riders and studbooks, HorseTelex has created a system that provides an up-to-date picture of all developments in sport and breeding. HorseTelex awards points for ALL performances in international sport: from 1.30m jumping (1.20m for Young Horses) and from Prix st Georges dressage. The points earned by horses produce country- and studbook-transcending world rankings:

ISV (International Sport Value)

IPV (International Progeny Value)

Calculation

The ISV is calculated by dividing a horse's total points by the number of times the horse has started. This produces a rating of average performance. This calculation corrects for the influence of a large number of starts.

The IPV is calculated by adding the total number of ISV points of all offspring of a stallion and dividing that by the number of offspring of this stallion. This produces a rating of the average performance inheritance. This calculation corrects for the influence of stallions with many offspring.

HorseTelex also calculates IPVs for mares and studbooks.

Jumping:

Clear in 1.30 m = 20 points

Clear in 1.35 m = 30 points

Clear in 1.40 m = 50 points

Clear in 1.45 m = 80 points

Clear in 1.50 m = 160 points

Clear in 1.55 m = 180 points

Clear in 1.60 m = 200 points

4 penalty points in 1.30 and 1.35 do not result in points. In the higher classes, horses can still earn points with one rail (1.40 and 1.45) and two rails (1.50, 1.55 and 1.60).

Young Horses (1.20 m - 1.25 m - 1.30 m - 1.35 m - 1.40 m - 1.45 m) are awarded points according to their own system.

Each separate class (Nations Cup, Table C, Two Phases etc.) has its own point group.

A bonus system, descending from the winner, for the top 50% of each competition provides extra points. More participants in a competition yield more bonus points.

A bonus system also applies for international championships.

Dressage:

Grand Prix scores: 100% = 1,000 points

Grand Prix U-25 scores: 100% = 800 points

Inter II/A/B scores: 100% = 600 points

PSG/Inter I scores: 100% = 400 points

A bonus system applies for international championships. A bonus system also applies for the FEI-CDI1* - CDI5* system (increasing) and for World Cup competitions in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North America and Oceania/Asia (decreasing)

Freestyle scores are corrected by 3%.

Presentation by age

HorseTelex compares stallions according to the age of the oldest offspring. The following IPV world rankings are presented:

Jumping

Class A = offspring of all ages, minimum number: 100 offspring

Class B = offspring of up to 15 years of age, minimum number: 80 offspring

Class C = offspring of up to 13 years, minimum number: 60 offspring

Class D = offspring of up to 11 years, minimum number: 40 offspring

Class E = offspring of up to 9 years, minimum number: 20 offspring

Dressage

Class A = offspring of all ages, minimum number: 15 offspring

Class B = offspring of up to 12 years of age, minimum number: 10 offspring
